Daily American life

Every country has a different culture and lifestyle. Adapting into a new culture is not as easy as it could look from the first sight. Such changes can be the best experience of your life or become a hard period when you cannot cope up with all the differences and would prefer to go back to your home country.  You must be independent and face all the changes on your own without any friends or family help. You have to become more open minded and start thinking in a different way.

There are several stages that students experience:

  • First stage: Everything looks very exciting and interesting. Students feel energetic and enthusiastic.
  • Second stage: Students start to realize the differences between their and alien cultures, lifestyle, language barrier, eating habits, communication and etc. The students might start to feel lonely. You might have conflicts with people around you
  • Third stage: Start feeling better, understand environment, see things in a different way.
  • Fourth stage: Adaption stage when you realize the chance to experience the new culture. You start to feel confidence and tolerance.
  • Fifth stage: After returning to home country you feel that you have changed and start to see things more open-minded.
